Ok so Polaris offers the Brutus in 3 different trim levels, but what are the differences? At first glance one would think the differences are simply, no HD vs HD vs HDPTO, but then one would be wrong.

First up is the obvious, price. Hydraulics are a $2000 upgrade from Brutus to Brutus HD, Hydraulics and Power Take Off is a $6000 dollar upgrade from Brutus HD to Brutus HDPTO.

Base Brutus comes with 25 x 10-12; 489 front tires while Brutus HD and HDPTO come with 25 x 9-12; Carlisle All-Trail II in the front. Rear is the same across the Brutus lineup but the HD and HDPTO do show up with Carlisle All-Trails in back as well.

Dry weights differ due to additional Hydraulic and Power Take Off mechanics.

Base Brutus is 15 inches shorter than HD and HDPTO. 125.5 in. x 64 in. x 73 in. vs 140 in. x 64 in. x 73 in. on HD and HDPTO.

Electric Cargo Bed Lift is Standard on HD and HDPTO but a dealer installed option on the base.

Also if you elect for only HD and want PTO later on your polaris dealer is also able to retrofit your rig with PTO...

Base Brutus has seating for 3:

While Brutus HD and HDPTO lose their 3 seat capability in favor of mounting their Hydraulic controls:

Which is a great thing, not everyone will want an enclosed cabin, by doing this they probably made the basemodel much more affordable.

yep. i was just saying thats probably the biggest difference for many. if you dont care for the accessories of closed cabin just get the base model.
The biggest difference is the ability to use attachments and the cabin. I think it is a bit annoying that they don't make the base model able to use attachments, but I guess when you consider how much the hydraulics make the price go up it makes sense.

The HD and HDPTO both have heat/AC as well where the base model does not.

this is true, hydraulic systems aren't cheap and the price they charge for the hydralic equipped model is fair enough. i like the whole pricing structure.
I wonder which of the models sells the best. Do you think most people are buying above the base model so that they have the cabin and can use attachments, or are most buying the base model? I don't even really know which I think is selling better.
Brutus is a niche purchase. People aren't buying the Brutus because they want one, they buy it because they NEED one.

Brutus is based off the Ranger, so those who want a SxS are better off going with Ranger.

yup.
with vehicles like this, there is a real need, not so much optional.
I do think that you could retrofit some of the attachments on somehow. Maybe install an aftermarket hydraulic system
